commercial/residential schematic design. the client met me behind the existing dirty white boxy building. an escape hatch like side door flung open as she sprang forth with a slightly uncanny yet delightful energy in her walk. she shook my hand and thanked me sincerely for coming all the way out there. holding the escape hatch open, she led me inside while I carried some models in a cardboard moving box. we looked over my portfolio while sitting in the waiting room to her father's office, and she seemed pleased with the white foam models I brought. insisting that I eat before leaving, she recommended something quick at the Mexican place across the street and I agreed after some fained resistance.
sitting at a table in the middle of the cramped dining room, we began discussing the project in finer detail, and that is when she finally told me her problem. this is our proposal to help her solve it.
